Which Pressure Washer Should I Buy?

It has been a long winter, but spring has finally arrived, which means it’s time to tackle all of your spring cleaning projects. One of the easiest ways to handle spring cleaning is with a pressure washer. Selecting the proper pressure washer for your needs can be a difficult task, so I am here to offer up some tips to help you find the perfect one.

The first thing to consider when selecting a pressure washer is what grade of pressure washer you need. Pressure washers fall into three grades: consumer, semi-pro, and commercial, with each grade offering a different level of quality and cost. If you are a homeowner and only plan on using the pressure washer for a few smaller tasks such as washing your car or cleaning your deck, a consumer model will be all you need. For more heavy-duty tasks and daily use, a semi-pro or commercial-grade pressure washer is recommended.

Once you have decided on your pressure washer grade, you need to determine whether you want a gas or electric pressure washer. Both of these have their advantages and disadvantages, and selecting the right one again depends on the tasks you plan to perform with it.

Electric
Electric pressure washers are great for cleaning smaller areas, such as cars, grills, or boats, but they are limited when it comes to larger jobs. They typically are less powerful than gas pressure washers, but are often less expensive and more portable as well. They also require less maintenance than gas pressure washers, and run much quieter.

Gas
If you’re looking for a pressure washer with a little more power, consider a gas pressure washer. Even the smallest gas pressure washers are stronger than some of the largest electric pressure washers. This added power makes gas pressure washers great for cleaning larger surfaces, such as decks, driveways, and house siding. Unfortunately, gas pressure washers are more expensive than electric washers, and are much louder when operating.

Whether you choose a gas or an electric pressure washer, your spring cleaning will be much easier because of it.
